Case 6

Misinformation can be costly

A mother consulted with Bob in August about her daughter, who would go to a State University of New York school in September. The daughter is a top student who wanted to attend a very competitive private school and her father was on disability. Why didn’t she receive the aid that she needed? Because her parents were told that they couldn’t apply for aid because they hadn’t yet filed their taxes. That misinformation cost a year. With Bob’s better advice, their daughter will transfer to the private school next fall. Case Studies
